1. Where is IRAD located?
    IRAD’s corporate offices are located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In addition to its physicians in Pittsburgh, IRAD has radiologists located throughout the United States.
  2. How long has IRAD been in business?
    IRAD began servicing clients in early 2001. Since that time it has grown to providing around-the-clock services for health care clients in pa, oh, wv, fl, in, ky, mi, ia, la, co, nv & wi.
  3. Are any examinations outsourced overseas?
    No, all IRAD physicians are geographically located within the continental united states.
  4. How many radiologists read for IRAD?
    More than twenty radiologists read for IRAD.
  5. Are the IRAD radiologists board certified?
    The majority of radiologists working with IRAD are board certified, actively practicing physicians. There are two senior radiology residents with IRAD who have passed their physics and written examinations and will be taking their oral examinations within the year. Hospitals and/or radiology groups that require board certification will be directed to our board certified physicians only.
  6. When is the service available?
    IRAD is available 24/7. There is no need to contact IRAD to inform us that we will be needed. We are always there.
  7. Does IRAD provide primary reads or preliminary reads?
    IRAD can provide either primary reads or preliminary reads. IRAD meets acr and fda guidelines for final diagnostic quality. It is the client’s choice as to whether it uses IRAD’s interpretations as final or preliminary.
  8. What modalities are available through IRAD?
    IRAD reads ct, mri, us, plain film and nuclear studies via teleradiology. IRAD also has physicians who are certified for b-reads. These films, however, must be mailed to us.
  9. Is IRAD insured?
    IRAD and its radiologists are insured with a $1 million/$3 million medical malpractice policy by an a-1 rated carrier that covers in all states.
  10. How long does it take for an interpretation?
    Interpretations are returned to you via fax in less than one hour. If an examination is truly life or limb threatening, it is given top priority and interpreted in significantly less time.
  11. Are the doctors licensed in my state?
    Physicians reading your exams will be actively licensed in your state.
  12. Do the doctors get credentialed at my hospital?
    Yes. In most cases, they will be given consulting privileges.
  13. Does IRAD provide onsite coverage?
    No. We are exclusively a teleradiolgy group, not a search firm or locum tenens company.
  14. Is there a coverage charge per shift?
    No. There is only a minimal monthly charge as a user’s fee for the use of IRAD’s server and the charge for the interpretation.
  15. Are there minimums?
    No. You can use IRAD as much or as little as you like. There is no additional charge for overnight use or weekend use.
  16. Is IRAD owned by or financially obligated to any health systems or health care corporations?
    No. IRAD is an independent and privately-held corporation with no political or financial ties to any health systems or health care corporations.
