For Immediate Release:

IRAD Services, Inc. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Amicas, Inc., Newton, Massachusetts, have announced a new business relationship between the two companies. Amicas develops and markets Internet-based software solutions for diagnostic-quality medical management, Amicas joins with IRAD, an internet-based radiologist reading group, to provide diagnostic interpretations nationally for hospitals, portable x-ray companies, HMO’s, correctional facilities, military bases and other types of diagnostic centers that need diagnostic coverage.

IRAD, through the software of Amicas, will securely access x-ray plain films, MRI’s, CT’s and ultrasounds from the clients’ servers, interpret the images and return final diagnostic written reports via electronic transmission within minutes.

Barry Gutwillig, Vice President of Business Development for Amicas, views the relationship as another step toward the refinement of telemedicine, “We view the merger of Amicas’ technology and IRAD’s radiological expertise as an extremely positive step forward in providing quality care that can be accessible anywhere in the United States, and at any time of the day or night. We are pleased to join IRAD as a partner in making this venture happen.”

David W. Stonebraker, President of IRAD Services, Inc., agrees with the statement. “The Amicas product is a perfect technological fit with the radiological interpretive services that we provide. We can now offer our services to any diagnostic entity in the country and in a few years, we will expand our services to the international medical market.”

Amicas and IRAD will officially unveil their new relationship at the National Association of Portable X-ray Providers national conference in Mid-October. Both companies encourage those interested to stop by their booth at the NAPXP conference or call IRAD at 1.800.466.IRAD.
